Make every effort and to take practical steps to ensure that IAEA resources for technical cooperation activities are sufficient, assured and predictable.
France supports the programme through the participation of its experts in various technical cooperation activities and through extrabudgetary contributions, in addition to its annual contribution to the Technical Cooperation Fund.
In 2023, French contributions to the IAEA technical cooperation programme reached 870 000 euros. In 2024, France contributed 250000 euros to the IAEA Technical cooperation programme. In 2023, France’s extra-budgetary contribution rose to 7 million euros and to 6 million in 2024. France contributed over 15,710,000 euros to the regular budget of the IAEA in 2025 and around 4,072,000 euros to the Technical Cooperation Fund. In 2025, France was the sixth largest contributor to the Agency’s regular budget.

The UK paid its Technical Cooperation Fund contributions in full and on time throughout the prior cycle, with specific amounts confirmed in successive IAEA General Conference statements. At the 60th IAEA General Conference in 2016, the UK pledged over €3 million to the Technical Cooperation Programme. At the 61st General Conference in 2017, the UK pledged more than €3.6 million to the Technical Cooperation Fund, noting its record of paying voluntary contributions on time and in full, and called on other Member States to do the same. At the 62nd General Conference in 2018, the UK pledged €3.7 million to the Technical Cooperation Fund for 2019, confirming it would continue to pay on time and in full. At the 65th General Conference in 2021, the UK pledged over €4 million to the Technical Cooperation Fund.
The United Kingdom has paid its IAEA Technical Cooperation Fund contributions in full and on time to ensure predictability of resources and encourages other states to do the same. At the 66th IAEA General Conference in September 2022, the UK pledged £3.4 million to the Technical Cooperation Fund.
